East-Azarbaijan provinces is located in north western part of the lslamic Republic of Iran at a latitude of 36,45 ' to 39, 26' degrees North and a longitude of 45, 5' to 48, 22'.degrees East.This Province is limited  by Aras  River, Republic  of Armenia and Independet Republic of Naxcivan , West-  Azerbaijan , Ardabil and Zanjan Provinces. Sahand is the mountain peak higher than 3700 meters .Aras River is the greatest one in north west of the country.

This Province is the industrial polar of the Islamic Republic of Iran's economy. The Province is also famous for its hand woven, artistic carpets.

Because of its climatic features, this Province is one of the most suitable regions of the country. The Province is also rich in natural resources.

Meanwhile, there are still unexplored reserves.

East Azerbaijan province is one the most suitable places for trade, industry, and agriculture, with many potentials for investment.
